For many of us autumn is well and truly here, the wind whipping up and the rain lashing down. Not pleasant to be out in. But for me it conjures and stirs up so many ideas and thoughts; roaring fires that keep you warm and bring a sense of comfort. Lazy evenings spent lying on the sofa watching a movie as the dark nights draw in and you close out the world hearing the weather outside, but inside you feel all warm and snug. Then there’s the sharp crisp mornings, the crunch of leaves under your feet, frost sparkles in the morning light, wrapped up in thick winter coats, gloves and scarfs as you hurry about. And then in the air there’s just a hint of Halloween, Guy Fawkes Night and Christmas approaching.

Coming back to reality and leaving that romantic vision behind, its still one of my favourite seasons in the year. There is something truly mysterious and magical about it, seeing everything change colour as trees shed their leaves.
